WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND WHY

When purchasing goods from tulipjewellery.co.uk we ask you to provide details such as your name, address, email address and contact numbers. Tulip Jewellery will always treat all of your personal information as confidential.

You may provide us with personal information to:

  • Set up an account
  • Enter a competition or survey
  • Leave us a review

We imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. We will only collect information when you volunteer it upon registering your details to shop with us, or sign up to our newsletters.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully. If you are under the age of 16, you must inform a parent or guardian about our privacy policy and obtain their agreement to this privacy policy before using any of our online services, including, but not limited to, registration with Tulip Jewellery, subscribing to our newsletter or placing an order with us.

OTHER WAYS WE MAY USE YOUR INFORMATION

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like email marketing, we will ask you directly for your expressed consent.

If you do consent to this we may from time to time send you marketing emails detailing promotions, sales and new products. If you have opted-in and you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you by emailing us at customercare@tulipjewellery.co.uk and we will remove you from our marketing list. Or by using the unsubscribe link found at the bottom of the email from us at any time.

We are a small independent business and use the information you provide to give the best possible experience at Tulip, we will never pass your details onto third parties for any marketing reasons.

We also use Google Analytics to tell us (on an anonymous basis) such information as how people reached the site (i.e from a search engine), if they are a returning visitor, how many pages they visited and for how long. This provides us with invaluable insight into shopping habits and enables us to better understand the customer journey and how we can make it better.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

We are required by UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed. Your information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

PAYMENT DETAILS

We do not store your credit card details. If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, our website hosts Shopify will store your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

THIRD PARTY SERVICES

Third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

Our store is hosted on Shopify. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

We do our utmost to ensure that our server hosts are secure and fully accredited.  However, unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for any illegal breaches that may occur.

SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take all reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.
